Tyler Zimmerman was born in Abington, Pennsylvania and began musical studies at the Settlement Music School at the age of 3. Mr. Zimmerman went on to participate in the prestigious Pre-College division at the Juilliard School at age 15 and completed his undergraduate studies and began his Master’s studies at Juilliard as well under the tutelage of Marlena Malas. He then transferred to the Curtis Institute of Music in 2015 and finished his Master’s there in 2018 with Marlena Malas and Mikael Eliasen. During his studies, Mr. Zimmerman performed a variety of roles including Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro), Edward Teller (Doctor Atomic), La Roche (Capriccio), Dulcamara (L’elisir d’amore) and Sam (A Quiet Place). He also was a regular attendee of the Chautauqua Music Festival from 2011 to 2018 and has been an Apprentice Artist with the Santa Fe Opera. Mr. Zimmerman is currently a Resident Artist with the Pittsburgh Opera where he will be seen as the Imperial Commissioner (Madama Butterfly), Colline (La Boheme), and the Notary (Don Pasquale).
